PENTAX RICOH IMAGING Hosts Roaring Twenties Themed Launch Event at Landmark NYC Townhouse

PENTAX unveils two new interchangeable lens cameras available in a total of 240 color combinations at fun, interactive event

New York City, NY (June 12, 2013) —  PENTAX RICOH IMAGING AMERICAS CORPORATION today launched two new interchangeable lens cameras at an event in New York City. Touted as an occasion that will break tradition, the interactive production highlighted the new K-50 DSLR and Q-7 compact system camera each available in 120 color combinations.

Members of the press and special guests were invited to take a look back in time to the roaring twenties as models styled as flapper girls and dapper guys were subjects for interactive photo shoots located in various sections of the eclectic and exquisitely decorated townhouse. While at the event, attendees were treated to appetizers and specialty cocktails prepared by Chef Jesse Schenker of Recette restaurant.

“At this event personal style, fashion and consumer electronics met in a way that has never before been seen,” said Jim Malcolm, executive vice president, PENTAX RICOH IMAGING. “The introduction of these capable and versatile cameras empowers consumers to incorporate their personality and taste into the design of their camera, making the K-50 and Q7 more than just an imaging device. They are a statement of self.”

After a short presentation, guests were invited to tour the townhouse and participate in five interactive photo-shoots staged throughout the property. Using the K-50 and Q7 to capture the shoots, guests were able to direct the models and select their favorite K-50 or Q7 camera to incorporate into the shoot.
